You select the app on your Fire TV Stick, and nothing happens: the screen stays black, the splash never goes away, or you land back on the Fire TV home screen. An IPTV app not opening on Fire TV has a short list of usual causes — a first launch that takes longer than expected, a stick short of memory or storage, an app stuck in the background, an installation that needs a refresh — and almost all of them are fixed in a few minutes from the Fire TV settings. This guide starts with what a normal launch of Klyvo Play looks like, so you can tell a slow start from a real failure, then goes through the fixes in the right order.
Klyvo Play is a player. It does not provide any channel, film or series: you connect the Xtream-compatible service or M3U link you already have and are authorized to use. On Fire TV, install it only from the Amazon Appstore.
Not opening, or just opening slowly?
A launch of Klyvo Play on Fire TV goes through a few stages, and some take time on a small stick:
- The KLYVO splash, shown while the app loads its saved session.
- Sometimes, a quick restart. If a fix has been published since your version was installed, the app downloads it and reopens once on it. This is most common on the first launch after an install or a reinstall.
- Getting KLYVO PLAY ready, with a progress bar and steps such as Loading categories… and Loading live channels…. The app prepares Home, Films, Series and Live so they open already painted. The first time, it usually takes 10 to 15 seconds, and never more than about 25.
- Who's watching?, the profile screen, if you chose to show it at every launch.
So before concluding that the app does not open, give it a good 30 seconds on the first launch. The following launches are much faster, because the lists and pictures are already on the device.
One more case that looks like an app that will not open: an app you cannot find. After an install from the Amazon Appstore, Klyvo Play appears in the apps list of the Fire TV home screen, often at the end of it. Open the full list and use its options to move the app to the front, so you always launch the official copy from the same place.
The app opens, but stops on a screen
Sometimes the app does open, and what looks like a failure is a message:
- The welcome screen with the device codes — the MAC Address and the Device Key — means no source is connected yet. Connect yours, or wait for a playlist attached on the customer portal: “Waiting for activation from your portal…”. The steps are in setting up Fire TV.
- “Your access has ended. To continue, choose a plan under “Subscription”.” means the 10-day trial or the licence has ended on this device. Plans are listed in the app; see also the pricing page.
- Content unavailable or Playlist expired means the app works but your line cannot be read or has ended.
- A recovery card titled “Un souci est survenu”, with a Réessayer button. This safety screen is written in French whatever your app language, so that it still works if something failed early. Select Réessayer; if it comes back every time, note it for support.
IPTV app not opening on Fire TV: the fixes, in order
- Force stop the app. Go to Settings → Applications → Manage Installed Applications, choose Klyvo Play, then Force stop. Open it again from your apps. An app left in the background can be stuck; pressing Back from the profile screen sends Klyvo Play to the background without closing it.
- Restart the Fire TV. Use Settings → My Fire TV → Restart, hold Select and Play/Pause on the remote for about five seconds, or unplug the power for ten seconds.
- Check the free storage. The same Manage Installed Applications screen shows how much space is left. A stick with almost no storage struggles to open any app: uninstall the apps you no longer use.
- Clear the app's cache from the same screen. It is harmless: pictures and temporary files are downloaded again. Klyvo Play has no cache button of its own.
- Update the app from the Amazon Appstore, and the Fire TV itself from Settings → My Fire TV.
- Reinstall from the Amazon Appstore. On Fire TV, a reinstall keeps the same device codes, so a playlist attached to them on the portal comes back, and it does not restart the free trial.
Clear data, in the same menu, goes further than clearing the cache: it removes everything the app stores on the stick — profiles, My list, preferences — as a reinstall does. Keep it as the last step. The difference between all these options is explained in resetting an IPTV app and clearing its cache.
Memory, heat and power on small sticks
Entry-level Fire TV Sticks have 1 GB of memory, and a big catalogue plus HD video asks a lot of them. Klyvo Play detects devices with little memory and switches to a lighter mode on its own: pictures are kept on disk rather than in memory, long lists keep fewer rows alive, and Multi-Live is not offered on 1 GB sticks. That keeps the app open on small devices; if it still fails to start, the stick may simply be overloaded by other apps — a restart frees them.
Heat and power matter too. A stick wedged behind the TV gets hot, slows down and may refuse to open apps: a short HDMI extension helps. Power it from the adapter supplied with it, plugged into a wall socket, rather than from the TV's USB port. For an app that opens and then closes during use, read IPTV app keeps closing.
Install from the Amazon Appstore only
A copy of an IPTV app downloaded from a website and installed by hand can be outdated, modified or incomplete, and some of them never open at all. On Fire TV, the official Klyvo Play comes from the Amazon Appstore, which also keeps it up to date. If you installed a copy from elsewhere, uninstall it and install the Appstore version — see avoiding modded APKs.
Still not opening? What to send
If the app still does not open after a restart, a cache clear and a reinstall from the Appstore, contact us through the support page with: the exact Fire TV model (in Settings → My Fire TV → About), what you see on screen and for how long, and the app version from Settings → About in Klyvo Play if you can reach it. Never send your playlist's password: it is not needed.
FAQ
Will I lose my playlist if I reinstall on Fire TV? No for a playlist attached to the device codes: the codes stay the same after a reinstall, so it comes back. A source you typed in yourself is also kept with the device's playlists. Profiles and My list, stored on the stick, start again.
Which Fire TV devices run Klyvo Play? Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Stick 4K, 4K Max and Fire TV Cube, from the Amazon Appstore. Tips for the Cube in IPTV on Fire TV Cube.
Why is the first launch slower than the next ones? The app prepares your catalogue and its pictures once, then reuses them. Later launches open from what is already on the stick and refresh in the background.
The app opens but shows a black screen when I play a channel. Same problem? No: the app is open, and the stream is the issue. That case is covered in IPTV black screen.
