How do you enter an Xtream Codes login? Your service gives you three details: a server URL (often with a port, such as :8080), a username and a password. In your IPTV player, choose the Xtream option, type the three fields exactly as received, and connect. In Klyvo Play, the Xtream tab on the first screen does exactly that, and the app then loads your live channels, films and series in their own sections. Below: what each field means, how to type it on every device, and the small mistakes that cause most failed logins.
Klyvo Play is a player. It provides no channel, film or series: you connect the service you already have and are authorized to use. The Xtream login comes from that service, never from Klyvo Play.
The three fields of an Xtream Codes login
“Xtream Codes” is the name of a server standard many services use to deliver live TV, films and series to players. Your login always has the same three parts:
- Server URL (sometimes called host, portal or DNS): for example
http://server.example:8080. It is the address of your service's server, usually followed by a port number. - Username: the name of your line, as chosen by the service.
- Password: the password of the line — not the password of any account you may have on a website.
These three details are also inside your M3U link, if you have one. If you only have the link, you can paste it instead: see how to add an M3U playlist. For the technical background, read what the Xtream Codes API is.
How to enter your Xtream Codes login in Klyvo Play
- Install Klyvo Play on your device from the download page.
- On the first screen, under Connect your source, stay on the Xtream tab.
- Fill in Server URL, Username and Password.
- Select Connect. The app shows “Loading your channels…”, then your library.
To add a second Xtream line later, open Settings from your avatar, then My playlists → Add a playlist, choose Xtream, give it a Name (optional) and select Add and play. A device can keep up to 20 playlists, each with its status (Active, Expired or Inactive).
Typing the server URL correctly
The server field causes the most trouble. A few rules make it painless:
- Keep the port. If your service wrote
server.example:8080, the:8080is part of the address. Without it, the app knocks on the wrong door and the server looks unreachable. - http:// is optional. If you type only
server.example:8080, Klyvo Play addshttp://itself. If your service gave anhttps://address, type it in full. - No need to clean the end. A trailing slash, or a copied address ending with player_api.php or get.php, is trimmed automatically.
- No spaces. A space before or after the address, often added by copy-paste, is removed — but a space in the middle breaks it.
Username and password: case and characters
Xtream usernames and passwords are usually case-sensitive: Martin and martin are two different lines for the server. Watch out for phone keyboards that capitalise the first letter automatically. Also check characters that look alike — a zero and the letter O, a lower-case l and a capital I, a 1 and an l. If your service sent the details in an email, copying and pasting them is safer than retyping.
Entering the login on a TV with a remote
Typing with a remote is slow, but it works. On the TV interface, each field opens the on-screen keyboard; confirm it and move to the next one. If you would rather not type at all, use the two codes displayed on the first screen: the address in MAC format and the Device Key. Sign in to the client portal with them from your phone or computer, add your Xtream login there, and the TV picks it up on its own within minutes. Your provider can do it for you too, if you send them the codes. Step by step: manage your playlists with your MAC address and Device Key.
- Apple TV: the on-screen keyboard driven by the Siri Remote.
- Fire TV Stick: the on-screen keyboard of Fire TV.
- Windows PC: a real keyboard, the easiest of all.
Xtream login refused? What the messages mean
- “Invalid credentials or unreachable server”: either the username or password is wrong, or the server cannot be reached. Check the port first, then the case of the username and password.
- “The server refused these credentials”: the server answered and said no. The line may have new details, or it may have ended. Our guide to invalid login and error 401 goes through every cause.
- “Server unreachable”: wrong address or port, a server temporarily down, or no Internet on your side.
- A refusal with a code: the app shows the code the provider's server sent (for example 403) and suggests checking the URL or trying your M3U link.
If the login works but the playlist shows Expired, the details are right and the subscription is over: only your service can renew it.
What happens after you connect
Once the Xtream login is accepted, Klyvo Play loads your live channels first, then your films and series. On a large line, the first load can take a little longer; the following launches are faster because the app keeps your catalogue organized. Live TV is grouped by category and bouquet, and you can choose up to three countries to organize the catalogue, while See all channels keeps every channel of the line reachable with a search — useful for very large playlists. The TV guide comes from your provider's panel, and can be completed with an XMLTV link added on the portal.
From then on, the app reconnects on its own at every launch and checks your playlists regularly while it stays open. If your service gives you new details for the same line, you can replace them on the portal: the device picks up the change without you touching it.
A quick checklist before you type
- Have the three details in front of you, ideally in a message you can copy from.
- Check that the server address includes its port, if your service gave one.
- Turn off automatic capitalisation, or check the first letter after typing.
- Make sure no other device is already using the line, if your service allows a single connection.
- Confirm the line is still active with your service if you have not used it for a while.
Where your Xtream details are kept
Details you type are encrypted and tied to the device: they live in the system's secure storage and, so that each launch finds your playlists again, are stored encrypted on our servers — never shown in full again. Streams travel directly from your service to your device. Klyvo Play needs no email and no account to work. Read more about privacy and security.
FAQ
Where do I find my Xtream Codes login? In the message your service sent when you subscribed, or in your customer area with that service. Klyvo Play does not provide logins.
Do I have to type http://? No. If you leave it out, the app adds it. Type https:// only if your service gave you an https address.
The login works on my phone but not on my TV. Why? Usually a typo on the TV (case, port), or a service that allows only one or two devices at a time. See too many devices connected.
Can I avoid typing the login on my TV? Yes: add it on the client portal with the device's two codes, and the TV loads it by itself.
Conclusion
Entering an Xtream Codes login comes down to three fields typed with care: the full server URL with its port, then the username and password with the right case. Klyvo Play cleans up the address for you, explains any refusal clearly and lets you skip typing on a TV thanks to the device codes.
