You type your details, select Connect, and the app answers that the login is wrong. An IPTV invalid login — or an error 401, its technical name — means your provider's server did not accept the username and password it received. In nine cases out of ten, one small detail is responsible: the server address, the port, a capital letter or a space at the end of the password. This guide explains what Klyvo Play shows, what each message means, and how to get your line connected.
Klyvo Play is a player. It does not provide any channel, film or series, and it does not issue logins: your Xtream details or M3U link come from the service you already use and are authorized to use. Only that provider can create, reset or renew them.
The messages you may see
Klyvo Play checks your details with your provider's server before saving anything, so a typo never leaves you with an empty app. Depending on where you are and what the server answers, you will see one of these:
- "Invalid credentials or unreachable server." — under Connect your source: the server turned down the username or password, or could not be reached at that address.
- "The server refused these credentials. Please check them." — when you add a playlist in Settings → My playlists: the server answered, and the login is wrong.
- "Server unreachable. Check the address and your connection." — in My playlists: nothing answered at that address.
- "Your provider's server refused the connection (code 401)." — the server answered with an HTTP error code. 401 means "unauthorized"; the same message with 403 means "forbidden".
- "M3U link not recognised." — the link you pasted does not contain a server, a username and a password.
IPTV invalid login: check the server URL first
The server URL is the most frequent culprit, because it has several parts and one missing piece is enough. Compare it, character by character, with what your provider sent you:
- The port. Many servers use a port after the address, such as :8080 or :80. Without it, you reach the wrong door, or nothing at all.
- http or https. Use the one your provider gave you. If you type no prefix, Klyvo Play adds http:// for you.
- Extra paths. You can paste an address ending in /player_api.php or /get.php: the app strips these endings itself. Other paths that are not part of the server address should be removed.
- An old address. Providers sometimes move to a new domain. If your line worked before and suddenly fails, ask whether the address has changed.
Not sure what each field means? Our guide to entering an Xtream Codes login walks through every box.
Username and password: the small details
- Capital letters count. On most servers, "Paul" and "paul" are two different users. The same goes for the password.
- Spaces count in the password. Klyvo Play trims spaces around the username, but never touches the password — a space copied by mistake at the end becomes part of it.
- Look-alike characters. O and 0, l and I, or a dash that a messaging app turned into a long dash: when you copy details from a message, these are easy to miss.
- Copy, don't retype. On a phone or tablet, copy the details and paste them. On a TV, double-check each field before you select Connect.
Use your M3U link to rule out typos
If your provider gave you an M3U link (the kind that contains get.php?username=…&password=…), it carries the same line as the Xtream login. Choose the M3U link tab, paste the full link and connect: Klyvo Play reads the server, username and password from it and opens the whole catalogue, with live TV, films and series. If the link works and the typed login does not, the typed details contain a mistake.
If the app answers "M3U link not recognised. Paste your provider's get.php link, or use the Xtream tab.", the link is incomplete — often cut off when it was copied. The difference between both methods is explained in Xtream login or M3U link, and adding a link in detail in how to add an M3U playlist.
When the login is right but still refused
Sometimes every character is correct and the server still says no. The reasons then sit on the provider's side:
- The line has expired or been disabled. Some servers answer an ended subscription as if the password were wrong. Once a line is connected, its state appears in My playlists — see checking your playlist's end date.
- The password was changed by the provider, or reset after a renewal.
- The line is restricted to certain apps or devices. Ask your provider to allow the KLYVO PLAY player; it identifies itself as KLYVO/1.0.
- Too many connections, or a temporary block. These usually come back as a 403 code — see IPTV error 403.
Klyvo Play does not hammer a server that refuses: a 401 or a 403 is treated as an answer and is not repeated straight away, so your device is not counted against the provider's anti-flood protection. Wait a moment before trying again.
Avoid typing altogether: the device codes
Typing a long address with a remote is where most invalid logins are born. Klyvo Play offers another way: the first screen shows the device's MAC Address (an address in MAC format that identifies this installation, not your hardware's real MAC) and its Device Key. With these two codes, your provider or reseller — or you, on the customer portal at portail.klyvoplay.com — can attach the playlist to the device. The app picks it up by itself, with nothing to type on the TV. See managing playlists with the MAC address and Device Key.
Received new details? Replace the old playlist
After a renewal or a change of password, the old login stays saved on the device and keeps being refused. Rather than editing it, add the new one: open Settings → My playlists, select Add a playlist, choose the Xtream or M3U link tab, enter the new details and select Add and play. Klyvo Play checks them with the server first, so you know at once whether they are accepted. The old entry can then be removed with the bin icon and Remove. A device keeps up to 20 playlists, and the one you are watching is marked Playing.
This is also the quickest way to test a second login your provider sends you, without losing the first one: if the new one is refused too, the problem is not a typo but the line itself.
Step by step: fixing an IPTV invalid login
- Read the exact message on screen and note any code (401, 403).
- Check the server URL, including the port, against your provider's message.
- Re-enter the username and password, paying attention to capitals and spaces.
- Try the M3U link tab with the full get.php link, if you have one.
- Ask your provider whether the line is active, the password unchanged and the address current.
- Or give your provider the device's MAC Address and Device Key, and let them attach the line.
FAQ
What is the difference between error 401 and error 403? A 401 says the server does not accept the identity it received — usually a wrong login. A 403 says the server understood the request and refuses it anyway — an expired line, too many connections, a block or a restriction.
My login works in another app. Why not here? Compare the server URL first: other apps sometimes keep an older address, or add a port by default. If everything matches, the line may be restricted to certain players; ask your provider.
Are my credentials safe once entered? Yes. They are encrypted and tied to the device, and you do not need an account or an email to use Klyvo Play. Nothing is stored in the clear.
Can Klyvo Play reset my password? No. The login belongs to your provider; only they can reset or change it.
Connect your line without an invalid login
An IPTV invalid login or error 401 is nearly always a detail in the address, the port or the password — or a line your provider needs to check. Once it is right, Klyvo Play remembers it, encrypted, for next time. Ready to try? Download Klyvo Play, connect your own service and enjoy the full app free for 10 days.
