Multiple profiles in an IPTV app: one screen, whole family

One screen, several viewers: how Klyvo Play profiles keep everyone's list, progress and suggestions apart — and children inside their own profile.

In most homes, the TV app is shared. Without profiles, one person's series ends up in everyone's “Continue watching”, and a child lands on whatever was playing last. Klyvo Play lets you create multiple profiles in the same IPTV app, so the whole family shares one screen without sharing one history.

Klyvo Play is a player. It does not provide any channel, film or series: you connect the service you already use and are authorized to use.

“Who's watching?”: multiple profiles on one device

Profiles are managed from the Who's watching? screen. Select Add, type a profile name, and optionally add a photo; each new profile also gets its own colour. A switch, Show this screen at every launch, decides whether the app asks who is watching each time it opens — handy on a family TV, unnecessary on a personal phone.

Under Manage profiles, you can change a profile's photo or remove a profile you no longer need.

What each profile keeps for itself

A profile is more than a name on a screen. Three things belong to each profile, and only to it:

  • Continue watching: the films and episodes started in this profile, with their resume positions. Your evening series picks up where you stopped.
  • My list: the channels, films and series this profile saved — see all features.
  • Recommended for you: suggestions based on what this profile liked.

Switch to another profile and these three rows change with it. Nothing is merged, nothing is overwritten.

A Kids profile, locked with a parental PIN

When you create a profile, you can turn on Kids profile. That profile then only shows the categories your source labels for children, on every screen. To keep a child inside it, go to Parental controls in the menu and create a 4-digit PIN: leaving the Kids profile then requires the code. The full setup is explained in Kids profile and parental PIN.

The Kids filter relies on how your source names its categories. If a children's category does not appear, your source does not label it as such.

Switching profile in two moves

  1. Open the menu (on TV: Settings) and select Switch profile.
  2. Pick a profile on the Who's watching? screen. If you are leaving a locked Kids profile, enter the parental code.

What all profiles share

  • The same source: profiles are viewers, not accounts — they all use the playlist connected on this device.
  • The same device codes and subscription: adding a profile changes nothing to your licence; see pricing.
  • The same device: profiles are stored on the device where you created them, and profile photos stay on it.

A good family setup with multiple profiles

A few minutes of setup save a lot of “who moved my series?” later. Here is what works well on a shared TV:

  • One profile per person, with a photo, so everyone recognizes theirs at a glance on the Who's watching? screen.
  • Show this screen at every launch turned on for the living-room TV, and off on a phone only you use.
  • A Kids profile for each child, and a parental PIN created right away, before the screen is handed over.
  • My list filled once: each person adds their channels and series to their own list, and the Home screen of their profile does the rest.

FAQ

Are profiles synced between my devices? No. Profiles, with their lists and resume points, are stored on each device. A TV and a phone each have their own set.

Can a child leave the Kids profile? Not once a parental PIN is set: switching to another profile asks for the 4-digit code.

Does each profile need its own subscription? No. Profiles are part of the app on this device; they do not add anything to what you pay.
