To use several IPTV playlists on one device with Klyvo Play, open My playlists in the settings, select Add a playlist, enter an Xtream login or an M3U link, and give it a name if you like. Every playlist is listed with its status — Active, Expired or Inactive — and its end date, and Play switches to it in one click. A device can hold up to 20 playlists. At each launch the app opens the newest one, unless you chose another, and if the playlist on screen expires while another one is still active, the app moves to it on its own. Here is how it all works.
Klyvo Play is a player. It does not provide any channel, film or series: you connect the service you already have and are authorized to use, with its Xtream login or its M3U link.
Why keep more than one IPTV playlist?
Most people start with one playlist. Several soon becomes useful:
- Two services you are subscribed to, for example one for your home country and one for another language.
- A renewal: your reseller attaches a new line to the device, and you want to keep the old one until its end date.
- A second household member with their own subscription, on a shared TV.
- A test line from your service, alongside your usual one, to compare before you decide.
- A second home: a line you only use at the holiday flat, kept on the TV stick you take with you between both places.
In each case, retyping server addresses and passwords every time you switch would be painful — especially with a remote. A list of playlists solves that.
How to add a playlist in Klyvo Play
- Open Settings, then My playlists.
- Select Add a playlist.
- Choose the Xtream tab (server URL, username, password) or the M3U link tab.
- Optionally give it a Name — "Living room", "Holiday flat" — so you recognise it later.
- Select Add and play.
Before adding, Klyvo Play checks the line with its server. If the server refuses the login, you will see "The server refused these credentials. Please check them."; if it cannot be reached, "Server unreachable. Check the address and your connection." Nothing half-working is saved. For details on each format, see entering an Xtream login and adding an M3U playlist.
One precision for M3U: Klyvo Play accepts the full get.php link your service gives you (with the username and password inside it), not a local M3U file. That link carries the same line as the Xtream login and opens the whole catalogue — live, films and series.
Adding a playlist without typing: the device codes
Each Klyvo Play installation shows a code that looks like a MAC address and a Device Key. Your service or reseller, or you, can attach a playlist to those codes on the customer portal, portail.klyvoplay.com, and it appears in My playlists without anything to type on the TV. It is the easiest way to add a second line to a Fire TV Stick or an Apple TV. Step by step: add a playlist online.
Reading the list: status, end date and Playing
My playlists shows the newest first. For each playlist, Klyvo Play asks the line's own server for its state, from your network:
- Active: the line works. Its end date is shown ("Ends …"), or "No end date".
- Expired: the end date has passed. The service has to renew it — see expired line status.
- Inactive: the service has disabled the line.
- Status unknown: the server did not answer clearly in time; try again later.
The playlist in use is marked Playing. Select Play on another one to switch, or Remove to delete it (the app asks you to confirm). A playlist in a format the app cannot use is marked as such, so you do not try it for nothing.
Which playlist opens at launch
The rule is simple and predictable: at every launch, Klyvo Play opens the newest playlist on the device — typically a renewed line your reseller has just attached — unless you picked another one in the app after it was added. Your choice is respected; a new line does not override it behind your back the next day.
The list is refreshed automatically at every start, so a playlist added on the portal shows up without reloading anything, and a playlist removed from the device on the portal disappears.
When a playlist expires: automatic switch
If the playlist on screen stops working because its service reports it as expired or disabled, and another playlist on the device is still active, Klyvo Play moves to the active one by itself, instead of leaving you in front of an "expired" message next to a working line. It never does so while a film or a channel is playing: it waits until you close the player. If no other playlist is active, the app shows the expired status and the way to contact your service.
What changes when you switch playlist
- The catalogue: channels, films and series come from the new line; the first opening of its lists takes a moment, then it is fast.
- Search: the search index is rebuilt for the new line.
- Adult 18+ mode: it closes, as it does at every change of line.
- Profiles, My list and Continue watching: they belong to the profiles on the device, not to a playlist.
- Connections: each line follows its own service's rules on simultaneous connections — see connection limits.
Several playlists across several devices
My playlists belongs to one device. Your TV, your phone and your PC each have their own list, tied to their own codes — which is also why a playlist attached on the portal lands on exactly the device you chose. The list is stored encrypted with those codes, and a reseller who manages your device sees the same list you do.
If you use the same line on two devices at once, remember that it counts as two connections for your service. A household with a TV and a tablet often ends up with a line per screen, or simply avoids watching on both at the same time. The app tells you when a service refuses a connection, rather than spinning endlessly.
Good practice with several playlists
- Name each playlist after its use, not after its server address.
- Remove lines that have expired for good: a short list is easier with a remote.
- Keep the line you use most as the one playing; switch only when you need the other.
- When you change device, re-attach your playlists to the new device's codes rather than copying passwords — see moving a playlist to a new device.
The demo has no playlists: My playlists only appears once you use your own source.
FAQ
How many playlists can I add? Up to 20 per device. Beyond that, remove one to add another.
Can I mix Xtream and M3U playlists? Yes. Each playlist is added with one or the other, and both appear in the same list.
Can two playlists play at the same time? One playlist is active at a time on a device. To watch two channels at once, use Multi-Live within the active playlist (except on 1 GB TV sticks).
Does adding a playlist add channels to my subscription? No. Each playlist is a line from a service you are authorized to use; Klyvo Play only plays it.
Why did the app switch playlist by itself? The previous one was reported expired or disabled by its service, and another playlist on the device was active.
Several services, one tidy list
